Deal to Sell Thermo King Reportedly Near

Westinghouse Electric Corp. is near an agreement to sell Thermo King, sources said. A sales agreement for Thermo King, which makes refrigerated transport equipment in Minneapolis, could come as early as today, one source said. Speculation about the sale of Thermo King began circulating late Friday, with sources saying the deal could be worth as much as $2.5 billion. Thermo King, the healthiest of Pittsburgh-based Westinghouse’s industrial units, last year posted a profit of $180 million on sales of $1.01 billion.
