Snack Bar, Restrooms at School on Agenda

Plans for a $150,000 snack bar and restroom facility at Niguel Hills Middle School will be considered by the City Council tonight.

The council also will be asked to exempt the project from the California Environmental Quality Act because the construction would replace existing facilities.

The site had been the subject of controversy over lighting for ball fields, which was approved by the City Council last year over the objections of neighbors.

City staff hope the new building will be ready for the February 1998 softball season. The $150,000 cost already has been approved by the council and appropriated from the current city budget.

The 7 p.m. meeting will take place at City Hall, 27841 La Paz Road. Information: (714) 362-4300.
