Man, 25, Killed When Van Swerves Into Tree
A 25-year-old Laguna Hills man was killed in a one-vehicle accident early Monday, officials said.
Tetsu Uehara was driving south on Moulton Parkway about 12:15 a.m. when his van swerved into a tree, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash, near Via Iglesia just north of Calle Cortez, was witnessed by at least one other driver, officials said.
Paramedics arrived minutes later to find Uehara dead at the scene.
It is not clear what caused Uehara to lose control of the van, or whether he had been speeding, authorities said. Drizzle had left the road slightly damp at the time of the accident, but it wasn’t excessively slippery, investigators said.
