Libraries to Be Open Alternating Fridays
The two branch libraries will join other city offices by opening every other Friday starting Sept. 26.
The Taft and El Modena branches will take on even more hours when the Main Library closes its doors Dec. 24 for a six-month, $1-million renovation.
The Main Library, at 101 N. Center St., will continue to close every Friday and will not join the rest of the city branches in the new schedule until after the renovation is complete, officials said.
The branch library hours are 1 to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday; 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday; 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and alternate Fridays.
The open Fridays are Sept. 26, Oct. 10, Oct. 24, Nov. 7, Nov. 21, Dec. 5 and Dec. 19.
