Imagine my surprise when I pulled out the Sept. 7 Calendar and found George Clooney’s picture plastered across the cover. You could have knocked me over with a paparazzi camera flash.

Weren’t you people paying attention? He doesn’t want the attention. The press should leave him alone. He doesn’t need the publicity.

* Dear George:

I wonder if you realize that you have already made more money than most people will ever make in their whole lives.

I wonder if you know that your fame (which, by your own admission, enabled you to command a private jet at a moment’s notice) offers you worldwide admiration and access to people and places most of us will never know.

I wonder if you can understand that most people cannot fathom how sad this life is because photographers want to take your picture. Can you explain that to us?
