As many as 300 people are expected to attend Cal Lutheran University’s Community Leaders Club’s 18th annual auction Nov. 1.

About 500 items will be auctioned off to benefit academic programs at Cal Lutheran, in the ballroom of the Hyatt Westlake Plaza.

The auction raises $40,000 to $50,000 each year for Cal Lutheran scholarships and academic programs, organizers said.

“It’s to support academic projects that are not in the regular budget,” said Mary Knotts, one of the organizers.

Things to be auctioned include a week’s vacation in Puerto Vallarta, a stay on the Sonoma Coast, season tickets to the Pasadena Symphony, fine jewelry and gift certificates to fine restaurants.

This Friday is the deadline for donating items to be placed on the auction block.

A silent auction will begin at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:45 p.m. and an oral auction at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $55 per person or $550 for a table of 10.
