Firms Win Contract for 3-D Networking

Three Valley companies received a $100,000 Small Business Innovation Research contract from the Department of Defense to develop new technology for networking 3-D displays, Woodland Hills-based Perceptronics Inc. said.

The displays will be used for entertainment and military applications and the contract will be administered by the U.S. Army Simulation, Training and Instrumentation Command in Orlando, Fla.

Infinity Multimedia International of Sherman Oaks and Litton Industries of Northridge will share the contract.

The companies will work on a sophisticated high-speed, real-time 3-D network that can be used in battlefield visualization as well as multi-person arcade games, Perceptronics said.
