California Amplifier Reports 14% Sales Gain
California Amplifier in Camarillo reported net income of $204,000, or 2 cents per share, for the second quarter ended Aug. 30, compared with a net loss of $209,000, or 2 cents per share, for the second quarter last year.
Second-quarter sales increased 14% to $13.09 million, compared with sales of $11.46 million for the second quarter of the previous fiscal year.
“The increase in sales during the second quarter, compared to the second quarter of last year, resulted primarily from the inclusion of Micro Pulse’s antenna products in the overall sales mix,” said Chairman Ira Coron. “Second-quarter sales compared to the immediately preceding first quarter showed improvement due to increases in sales of wireless cable and satellite television products.”
Coron said there continues to be a delay in the roll-out of digital wireless cable in the United States, which has inhibited California Amplifier’s growth.
California Amplifier designs and manufactures products to receive microwave signals used primarily for multichannel television.
