What’s Left? Not These Whoppers. April Fool!

A few years ago, Taco Bell Inc. ignited public protest with an April 1 announcement that the Irvine-based company had purchased the Liberty Bell. On Wednesday, Burger King Corp. followed suit, fooling some customers into believing that the Miami-based restaurant chain was introducing a new “Left-Handed Whopper.” According to a full-page advertisement in USA Today, “After years of neglect, left-handed eaters will no longer need to conform to traditional right-handed eating methods.” The company said thousands of customers came into Burger King restaurants requesting the left-handed burger.
