** 1/2 God Lives Underwater, “Life in the So-Called Space Age,” A&M.; Silly moniker, but this L.A.-based duo (by way of rural Pennsylvania) offers an interesting techno-rock blend on its second album. Many tunes are reminiscent of such “space age” pioneers as early Black Sabbath and later Pink Floyd, while the more flatulent musical blurts sound a lot like Emerson, Lake & Palmer’s “Brain Salad Surgery”--only less melodic and somewhat less memorable.

Albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
