A group of entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to seek private investment April 21 at Cal Lutheran University’s Enterprise Development Center Forum at the North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village.

Representatives of 10 small businesses in Southern California were chosen to present their business plans at the event, said Barry R. Sedlik, Southern California Edison’s manager of economic and business development. The company is sponsoring the event.

An audience of investors representing more than $250 million in venture capital will observe the presentations.

“These events have a unique ability to bring together businesspeople in need of capital with those individuals who are seeking innovative, new businesses in which to invest,” Sedlik said. “Since 1994, participants in SCE’s forums have gone on to raise more than $19.2 million in investments.”

The following companies were selected to make presentations at the forum: Adventure Components, Westlake Village; Burstein Laboratories, San Juan Capistrano; CADtest Inc., Ventura; CEMENT Quality Raiment, Ojai; Emerging Technologies Corp., Laguna Hills; Learn OnLine, Oxnard; Network Telemetrics, Westlake Village; TechnoConcepts Inc., Newbury Park; Utopics Inc., Tarzana; and Vascular Logics, Huntington Beach.

The forum will begin with a reception at 5 p.m., followed by dinner and the presentations. The cost to attend is $45. For more information and reservations, call (805) 493-3360.
