Joseph Saltsman, the 103-year-old family patriarch whose life was chronicled in the 1996 Times series, Journey of a Century, died Sunday.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Mount Sinai Mortuary, 5950 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles.
