Annual Zot Trot Is Set to Benefit UCI Funds

Hundreds of athletes--from tiny tots to veteran runners--will take part in UC Irvine’s annual Zot Trot April 19.

The event features a 5K run/walk, a 10K run and a 1K for children 12 and younger. Proceeds from the races will benefit the UCI Alumni Assn. Endowed Scholarship/Fellowship Fund and UCI Athletics.

The registration fee for the men’s and women’s 5K race is $20 per person on or before Wednesday and $24 thereafter. The fee for the Tiny Tot 1K is $12 per child on or before Wednesday and $14 thereafter.

Race-day registration begins at 6:30 a.m. and the 5K event will start at 7:30 a.m., followed by the 10K run at 8:30 a.m. and the Tiny Tot 1K at 9:30 a.m.

The top three male and female division winners in the 5K will receive cash prizes. The top three walkers also will receive awards. All children who participate will receive commemorative medals.
