Building Official Accused as Peeper
A state building superintendent was in jail after being accused of installing video cameras in apartment bedrooms and secretly filming female residents. Renaldo Carreno, 38, who appeared at a Monmouth County court hearing in Freehold, allegedly made hundreds of videotapes, some of which show the women undressed. Prosecutors said he installed miniature cameras and microphones into waist-high wall molding in the bedrooms of apartments. He was arrested after a woman in the building walked past his apartment door and heard her voice on a videotape.
