Plaque Salutes City Leaders of 36 Years
In a salute to public servants over the past 36 years, the Villa Park Women’s League has presented the city with a plaque that names 32 residents who have served as city mayors and council members.
The plaque, which hangs in the council chambers, represents city leaders who served from 1962, when Villa Park was incorporated, to the sitting council.
“It’s a community gesture,” said Sandy Bass, league president. “We just wanted to recognize their efforts for making this a better place to live.”
The commemorative plaque has space for the names of future city leaders.
