Emergency Training Sessions to Be Held
Thousand Oaks officials are giving residents a chance to get ready for the next mudslide, wildfire or big earthquake with free emergency training.
The series of sessions, conducted by the Ventura County Fire Department, will begin May 7 and run every Thursday for six weeks from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Call 496-2255 for more information.
“There are all kinds of calamities that befall us in Southern California, and we touch on all of them,” said Forrest Frields, Thousand Oaks section leader of the Disaster Assistance Response Team.
Residents who complete the six training sessions can qualify to become members of the local response team and assist police in emergencies, Frields said.
