City Considers Bids to Improve Storm Drain
To improve a storm drain on Canyon Circle, the Villa Park City Council on Tuesday will consider awarding a $95,416 contract to line the channel with concrete.
The city received four bids for the two alternatives proposed. To move the channel underground, bids ranged from about $189,000 to $254,000. To construct a concrete-lined open channel, bids were from $95,000 to $195,000.
The city staff is recommending that the contract be awarded for lining only to Los Angeles Engineering Inc. of Rosemead, the lowest bidder.
The council will also proclaim May 9 as Fire Service Recognition Day to salute the men and women who have dedicated their personal and professional lives to the service of others.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers, 17855 Santiago Blvd. Information: (714) 998-1500.
