Police Group Gets $4,750 in Donations
The Simi Valley Police Foundation recently received $4,750 in donations from area businesses and organizations to help support a number of department programs.
Simi Valley Friends donated $2,000 to the foundation to help train and house dogs for the Police Department’s canine program.
The Lockheed Corp.’s Employee Engineers and Scientist Guild donated an additional $2,000 to purchase support equipment for the department’s Special Weapons and Tactics team.
The Shell Oil Co. Foundation donated another $500, which--along with the $250 given by the Yosemite Avenue Shell station--will be used for a yet-undetermined purpose.
The Simi Valley Police Foundation was created by residents in 1997.
Since its inception, the group has collected more than $54,000 in donations for the department.
