COLOMBIA : Candidates’ Offices Damaged in Blasts
At least five bombs exploded in Bogota, killing one person and damaging the offices of two presidential candidates, police said. The explosions occurred “simultaneously” in northern, southern and western neighborhoods of the capital, a police spokesman said. “There’s damage to the windows and facades of buildings, and one street kid has been killed,” he said. Two of the explosions took place either outside or very close to two separate campaign offices belonging to the ruling Liberal Party presidential candidate, Horacio Serpa. Another damaged the campaign headquarters of former armed forces chief Gen. Harold Bedoya, who is also contesting next month’s presidential elections.
