Xircom Inc. Posts Record Sales for the 2nd Quarter

Xircom Inc. in Thousand Oaks has reported record net sales for the second quarter ended March 31 of $64.1 million, a 12% increase over $57.1 million for the same period last year, and a 22% increase compared to $52.5 million for the prior quarter.

Income from continuing operations was $3.3 million or 14 cents per share, compared to $4.9 million or 22 cents per share for the same period last year, and $2.4 million or 11 cents per share for the prior quarter.

“We announced significant deals with Toshiba and DEC, bringing the original equipment manufacturer contribution to nearly 20% of revenues,” said Dirk Gates, chairman, president and chief executive officer.

Xircom makes the Integrated PC Card, PC Card and CardBus communications products for connecting mobile and remote portable computer users to corporate networks, the Internet and other online services from a variety of locations.
