Feuer to Speak About Neighborhood Councils

Share

Councilman Mike Feuer will make a presentation at the South Robertson Neighborhoods Council meeting tonight to discuss the adoption of a neighborhood council system on a citywide basis.

“We’ve had a successful experiment with neighborhood councils for nearly two years,” said Feuer, who represents the 5th Council District.

“The purpose of this meeting is to sit down with the experts--the active members of our district who have already made neighborhood councils a reality--and hear their ideas about how this system could be expanded across the city.”

Feuer has proposed the establishment of more than 100 city neighborhood councils in Los Angeles to help residents feel more connected to city government.

The councils would address neighborhood-specific issues regarding crime, traffic congestion and city services.

Representatives of the 5th District’s other local governing body, the Van Nuys Livable Neighborhoods Council, also will be present.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria of Hamilton High School, 2955 South Robertson.
