Arraignment Delayed in Petty Cash Theft

Share

An arraignment hearing for a Ventura County sheriff’s deputy shown on videotape taking petty cash from an Oak View community police storefront was delayed Monday until Aug. 17.

Deputy Paul Tinoco is accused of taking about $10 from a cash drawer at the storefront June 16. Less than $100 had disappeared from the drawer over the weeks prior to Tinoco’s arrest, so authorities installed a hidden camera to monitor the storefront.

“It’s not that charges won’t be filed.” said Deputy Dist. Atty. Bill Karr. “We’re doing further investigation into the exact charges it’s appropriate to file.”
