Those sweet and fuzzy Beanie Babies seem to bring out the opposite traits in prospective buyers.

Employees had T-shirts made that said: “I survived the Beanie Baby craze.”

Ty Inc. of Oak Brook, Mass., brought out the first Beanie Babies in 1994. More than 100 different versions have come out since and stores can’t keep them in stock. Some versions command high prices from collectors.
