Share

Stressed-out business owners can get help from a time-management guru at the Los Angeles Times Small Business Strategies Conference this fall.

David Allen’s workshop--”Five Keys to Action Management: Staying Highly Productive and Stress-Free in a World Where There’s Too Much to Do”--will focus on clarifying, organizing and streamlining the often overwhelming barrage of information. Business owners will learn how to be more effective, more productive and more relaxed.

Allen is the founder of David Allen & Co., an Ojai management and consulting firm that has developed a system to plan and manage projects, develop company vision and coordinate work flow. He is also director of Actioneer Inc., a San Francisco company that provides software for personal productivity.

Allen’s session will run from 9:45 a.m. to noon Oct. 18. More than 10,000 small-business owners are expected to attend the conference Oct. 17-18 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The conference will include panels and workshops on topics such as technology, financing, planning for growth, managing people, and marketing and advertising.

The Ask the Experts track will address business resources aimed at minority business owners.

Another track, Entrepreneurship 101, will cover business basics such as company structure, trademarks, resources and ways to decide what business to start.

In addition, free business advice on legal, accounting, marketing and finance issues will be provided by financial and business experts.
