Ansley Coale, Germain-Robin Alambic

“Not long ago, I was at a tasting and tried the Octopus Ridge Sauvignon Blanc, a local wine from Mendocino County. I went out and bought a bunch of it. It’s very French-oriented, and I like the style of European wines. This one is real crisp and flinty; there’s a lot of soil in it. The fruit is nice and subdued, and the wine is very cleanly made and well-balanced.”
