Hold the Gasoline for Scouts’ Pushcart Derby

Four hundred Cub Scouts will eschew gasoline-powered vehicles and use muscle power instead to maneuver wooden cars through a number of events at Saturday’s fifth annual Pushcart Derby.

Organized by Cub Scout Pack 1218, the event will include a road race, a dual slalom course, a parallel parking competition and a drag race.

All Cub Scout packs in Orange County may attend the races, which will be in the back parking lot at Fullerton College, off Berkeley Avenue north of East Chapman Avenue. The event, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., will have a hot rod display, and there will be food and music.
