Ralphs Affiliates Win Scholarships
Forty-two Ralphs Grocery Co. workers or their children received college scholarships worth between $2,500 and $10,000. Of the recipients, 11 were from Orange County.
The Scholarship Awards Program is a partnership of the Southern California United Food and Commercial Workers Union and the Food Employers Ancillary Benefit Fund.
More than $1 million in scholarships is awarded to supermarket industry employees and their dependent children “who represent outstanding academic, technical or vocational potential and achievement, dedicated community service and a high degree of personal accomplishment.”
A panel of educators selected the scholarship winners.
The winners received their scholarships in ceremonies at the Disneyland Hotel.
