Update--Four of the league’s top five players in on-base percentage are from Reno, which leads the Western League with a .314 batting average. The first-half Northern Division champion Chukars have 70 home runs, including 18 by Brett Jenkins (.367, 76 RBIs) and 17 by Raul Rodarte. Alan Burke has a league-high 19 homers for Mission Viejo, which has lost two in a row and has lost four straight to Reno. Buck Rodgers said Monday he will not return next season as manager if the Vigilantes move from the area or do not have a deal in place for a permanent stadium.
