Serbian forces have captured the rebel stronghold of Junik in Kosovo province, driving ethnic Albanian fighters from what had been their logistical and weapons distribution center, police said. The casualties did not include civilians, who fled before the fighting began, said Col. Bozidar Filic, a police spokesman. Members of the separatist Kosovo Liberation Army tried to escape to neighboring Albania but were blocked, according to a statement carried by Tanjug news agency. Four policemen and two soldiers were killed in the fighting, it said. Rebel casualties were not known.
