A La Palma youth who is a witness in the Nevada casino slaying of 7-year-old Sherrice Iverson will be the target of protesters chartering a bus next week to UC Berkeley to seek his expulsion, an organizer said Thursday.

David Cash Jr., 19, a friend of the Long Beach youth charged with molesting and strangling the girl in a casino bathroom last year, has said he saw Jeremy Strohmeyer attacking the girl but he walked away. When Strohmeyer allegedly told him he killed the girl, Cash kept the secret.

In interviews, Cash has shown no remorse and has said he hasn’t lost any sleep over the killing at the Primm, Nev., casino. If anything, Cash said, the notoriety has helped him get dates.

As a result of hundreds of e-mail messages and disgust over Cash’s attitude, radio hosts Tim Conway Jr. and Doug Stekler of Los Angeles talk radio station KLSX/97.1-FM chartered a bus to take people to Berkeley. All 55 seats on the bus are reserved. The demonstration will be at noon Wednesday on campus.

Cash called into the KLSX show and displayed no remorse during a 35-minute interview, said Ron Escarsega, operations manager for the radio station.
