Let’s set the record straight on Bob Dornan’s compensation for his challenge to the 1996 “stolen” election in the 46th District. Your paper has printed several letters on this issue. The number of illegal residents and/or noncitizens who voted now stands at 1,499 as reported by Secretary of State Bill Jones. (Dornan lost by 789 votes.) Dornan proved his case and what did taxpayers get for their money via the relentless search for truth by Dornan? Over 1 million “deadwood voters” removed from Orange County voter rolls, a newly designed absentee ballot, voter registration and information material (all revamped to deter illegal voting) and a successful defense of the Federal Contested Election Act. My father did this for all Americans.
