Honda Motor Co. said that the retail price of the best-selling Accord will increase an average of 0.8%, or $175, on a sales-weighted basis in the 1999 model year. The increase in the price of the U.S.-built car follows the 15% price cut on the ’99 Acura 3.2TL luxury sedan. The best-selling model, the four-cylinder LX sedan with automatic transmission, will carry a price tag of $19,190, up $100 from the ’98 model. Overall, Accord prices range from $15,200 for the DX sedan to $24,400 for the EX coupe with a V-6 engine. That compares with a range of $15,100 to $24,250 in the previous model year.
