Base Cleanup Efforts to Be Meeting Topic
Environmental cleanup efforts at the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Port Hueneme and the Naval Air Weapons Station at Point Mugu will be the subject of a community meeting this week.
The Oxnard Plain Restoration Advisory Board--a group of residents and government representatives--will meet Thursday at the Orvene Carpenter Community Center, 550 Park Ave.
A committee will meet at 6:30 p.m., and the full board will convene at 7:30 p.m. Both meetings are open to the public.
There will be reports on new cleanup technologies, as well as presentations by environmental managers from the Naval bases at Port Hueneme and Point Mugu.
