ANAHEIM

* Orangethorpe Avenue: A report of suspicious circumstances at 5:03 a.m. Nov. 24 in the 3000 block.

BREA

* West Birch Street / Walnut Avenue: Police took a man into custody at 2:04 p.m. Nov. 24. The man, who had a warrant out for his arrest for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, was found walking near a construction site.

* Imperial Highway: One car heading west drifted into the adjacent lane and hit another vehicle at 11:29 a.m. Nov. 24. No one was injured.

BUENA PARK

* Whitaker Street: Police arrested a 45-year-old man who stood outside an apartment complex in the 8300 block with an ax and allegedly threatened to kill people, 9:02 p.m. Nov. 24.

* Artesia Boulevard: Report of theft of 20 plants from an unlocked storage area, 4:08 p.m. Wednesday in the 6900 block.

COSTA MESA

* Peterson Place: Officers investigated a vehicle burglary in the 2700 block about 6:20 p.m. Saturday.

* Fairview Road: Police responded to a hit-and-run crash at West Wilson Street about 5:35 p.m. Saturday.

* East 17th Street: A caller complained about someone drunk in public about 12:55 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block.

CYPRESS

* Lincoln Avenue: A petty theft was reported at 6:53 a.m. Nov. 24 on the 5600 block.

DANA POINT

* Pacific Coast Highway: A report of reckless driving at 7:49 p.m. Nov. 24 at Niguel Road.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY

* Santa Yolanda Circle: Two jewelers who had just bought a large quantity of loose diamonds were robbed by a group of eight men with handguns and a knife at 7:51 p.m. Wednesday. As the jewelers, ages 36 and 50, arrived at the 18400 block home of the 36-year-old, the eight men confronted them and demanded the diamonds they had just bought in Los Angeles. They struck one of the jewelers in the face and searched them, taking the diamonds and fleeing in three vehicles. No value was released on the diamonds.

FULLERTON

* Deerpark Drive: Burglary of a 1991 blue Chevrolet Blazer was reported at 7:11 a.m. Nov. 24 in the 2000 block.

* Iris Court: Vandalism was reported at 8:41 a.m. Nov. 24 in the 2300 block.

* South Harbor Boulevard: An auto theft was reported at 10:24 a.m. Nov. 24 in the 500 block.

GARDEN GROVE

* Valley View Avenue: A fight broke out at a bowling alley after an argument at 12:15 a.m. Nov. 24 in the 12000 block.

* Garden Grove Boulevard: Police defused a pipe bomb in a Home Depot parking lot at 1:10 p.m. Nov. 24 in the 10800 block. No one was injured.

HUNTINGTON BEACH

* Bolsa Chica Road and Warner Avenue: A man selling Christmas trees was assaulted with a paint ball gun at 4:32 a.m. Sunday.

* Nichols Street: A red Ford Tempo that had been parked in front of a residence was reported stolen at 8:57 a.m. Sunday.

IRVINE

* Sand Canyon Avenue: Rims, tires and stereo equipment were reported stolen at 8:13 a.m. Nov. 23 from a 1993 Ford Ranger in the 15600 block. Someone smashed the vehicle’s window to gain entry.

* Verde: A purse was stolen from an unlocked residence at 2:27 p.m. Nov. 23. The victim reported being in another room at the time.

* Morris Road: A vehicle was reported stolen at 8:05 a.m. Nov. 23.

* Austin: A car stereo was reported stolen at 7:51 a.m. Nov. 23 after someone broke into a 1996 Honda Civic.

* Eagle Run: A suspect used a kitchen window to burglarize a residence prior to 10 a.m. Sunday. The losses were not immediately known.

* Promenade: A cellular phone was reported stolen at 2:14 p.m. Sunday from an unlocked vehicle parked in an assigned carport in the 100 block.

* North Coast Highway: Police on Nov. 24 investigated a report of smashed windows at a jewelry store in the 300 block.

* La Paz Road: A report of reckless driving at 6:37 p.m. Nov. 24 at Moulton Parkway.

* Seafare: A report of reckless driving at 5:55 p.m. Nov. 24 in the 100 block.

LAKE FOREST

* Portola Parkway: A report of reckless driving at 11:21 a.m. Nov. 24 at Glenn Ranch Road.

* Palm Street at Lambert Road: A petty theft was reported at 8:27 a.m. Nov. 24.

* S. Brass Lantern Drive: A petty theft was reported at 9:14 a.m. Nov. 24 in the 1200 block.

* East Rosecrest Avenue: A property hit-and-run was reported at 9:44 a.m. Nov. 24 in the 100 block.

LA PALMA

* Bourbon Lane / Bransford Drive: A Bourbon Lane street sign was reported missing at 12:15 p.m. Sunday.

LOS ALAMITOS

* Denwood Avenue: Neighbors heard two gunshots at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, but police were unable to find where they came from.

MISSION VIEJO

* El Paseo: A report of reckless driving at 1:48 p.m. Nov. 24 in the 25000 block.

NEWPORT BEACH

* Newport Center Drive: Officers on Monday investigated the theft of a compact disc player and a calculator worth $345 from a car in the 600 block.

* Buena Vista Street: Sheriff’s deputies responded to a robbery alarm in the 16000 block at 8:13 p.m. Nov. 24.

PLACENTIA

* Santa Fe Avenue: A report of malicious mischief at 8:26 p.m. Nov. 24 in the 300 block; two males allegedly spray-painting were booked for vandalism.

* Alta Vista Street and Rose Drive: A report of a grand theft at 2:02 p.m. Wednesday; theft of computer taken from a truck parked at a supermarket lot, valued at $500.

* West Valencia Avenue: A report of a narcotic violation at 11:02 p.m. Wednesday at a high school; marijuana found.

SAN CLEMENTE

* Calle Puente: A report of reckless driving at 6:15 p.m. Nov. 24 at West Mariposa.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO

* Via Del Rey: A resident called police after hearing shots fired at 7:52 p.m. Nov. 24 in the 26000 block. No report was taken.

SANTA ANA

* Brookhollow Drive: A woman’s purse was stolen from a bar at 12:20 a.m. Thursday in the 1500 block.

SEAL BEACH

* Main Street: A teenage male reportedly walked up to a 13-year-old girl and started kissing her and following her around 7 p.m. Wednesday.

* Chapman Avenue/Dale Street: Reckless driving was reported at 4:10 p.m. Nov. 24.

* Cedar Street: A robbery with an audible alarm was reported in the 11000 block at 12:22 p.m. Nov. 24.

TUSTIN

* Walnut Avenue: A woman was allegedly assaulted while at a birthday party in the 1300 block, reported at 2:46 p.m. Sunday. Police arrested another woman as a result.

* Newport Avenue: A gas station in the 13000 block was robbed of $300 by a young male who reportedly left on foot prior to 5:03 a.m. Sunday.

VILLA PARK

* Edgewood Avenue: A report of a robbery with an audible alarm at 7:18 p.m. Nov. 24 in the 18000 block.

WESTMINSTER

* Beach Boulevard: A 29-year-old Newport Beach man was arrested for allegedly shoplifting at a store in the 16400 block at 11:09 a.m. Saturday.

YORBA LINDA

* Via Del Escuela: A mother took her child into an activity center. When she returned to her car about 10 minutes later she discovered a thief had broken into her car and stolen her purse at 12:11 p.m. Wednesday in the 5200 block.
