Area May Receive Morning Showers

Morning showers may be in store for Ventura County today as an upper-level disturbance comes on the heels of a storm front that lowered temperatures Friday and brought a trace of rain to several areas.

“Once you get this system out of your way here, you should be fairly dry for the next three or four days or so,” said Guy Pearson, a meteorologist with WeatherData Inc., a private company that provides forecasts for The Times.

Any showers today should end by the afternoon, leaving partly cloudy skies. Temperatures should range from the mid-50s to the low 60s, dropping to the mid- to upper 40s overnight, Pearson said.

Partly cloudy skies and slightly warmer temperatures--but no rain--are in store for Sunday.

Oxnard, Point Mugu and Thousand Oaks all registered traces of rain Friday, Pearson said. The tail end of a storm front moving through Southern California was blamed for the moisture. The front was created by the collision of cold air from the Gulf of Alaska and warm tropical moisture from the southwest.
