“Mom and Memories of Days Gone By” by Gary L. Washburn (Voices, Nov. 28) is a very moving and touching tribute to his mom, whose so-called golden years are somewhat dimmed by the inevitable passage of time.

Most of us had mothers who, though perhaps not musically talented, brought something to their children in the way of warm cook-ies, storytelling, patched and repaired clothing, as well as an ever-present love. Though mine possessed none but the last category, it was always there, along with hard work and little money.

Thank you, Gary, for reminding me, as well as thousands of other sons and daughters, of the truly wonderful memories that most of us have as a result of gifts of love from Mom.
