Two masked, armed men robbed a Ventura Boulevard bank Monday morning, fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money, according to the LAPD.

Two men wearing jumpsuits, gloves and ski masks entered Fidelity Federal Bank, 14475 Ventura Blvd., at about 10:30 a.m. One carried a handgun and the other what police believe was a semiautomatic assault rifle, said Det. Gregory Stone, of the Police Department’s robbery/homicide division.

“They entered the bank, announced this was a robbery and proceeded to make demands for currency, which was provided to them,” Stone said. “Both suspects fled the location. We don’t know what mode of transportation.”

Three customers and 13 employees were in the bank and three more customers walked in during the robbery. No one was injured, Stone said.

An employee activated an alarm when the men left, but the suspects had disappeared by the time police arrived minutes later, Stone said. No witnesses saw the men leave, he said.

Police refused to disclose the amount of money taken, saying only that it was a “substantial loss.”

The FBI is assisting in the investigation.
