Techniclone Corp. has signed up its first patient in mid-stage trials of its experimental treatment for brain cancer.
The Tustin developer of cancer treatments plans to enroll 40 patients for tests in clinics at UC San Francisco and three other universities in Pennsylvania, Utah and South Carolina. It hopes the tests will prove the treatment will destroy solid brain tumors.
If so, the company has even bigger hopes of testing the therapy broadly as a cancer-fighting agent with uses on a variety of solid tumors.
