Santa Claus

On the way to a Christmas party on Dec. 4, we went by our local little theater to pick up some tickets. Upon reentering the car my wife noticed her purse was missing, returned to the box office but couldn’t find it and finally concluded she hadn’t brought it, so we went on to the party. She had to stay and help clean up, so I returned home until she called me.

Shortly after returning, the doorbell rang and a tall, nice-looking young man was there with her purse. He and his family had been out buying a Christmas tree, noticed the purse on the curb in front of the theater (it had fallen out of the car), and traveled at least three miles out of their way to return it, intact. He wouldn’t take anything, saying instead, “Merry Christmas.” Indeed, Santa’s name is really Richard and thank you again, wherever you are.
