U.S. orders for machine tools fell in October from a month earlier as demand dropped in every region of the country. Orders for domestic and foreign-produced machine tools declined 23% to an estimated $608 million in October from $793 million in September, said a joint report from the Assn. for Manufacturing Technology and the American Machine Tool Distributors Assn.
