Peak Error
I always read with interest Susan Spano’s articles. As a woman who has traveled by herself, I can many times relate to her stories.
I would like, however, to clarify something in her article “For Intrepid Explorers Past and Present, a Woman’s Place Is Far From Home” (Her World, Dec. 6). While Aconcagua is the highest peak in the Western Hemisphere, it is on the Argentine side of the Andes, not on the Chilean side. As a native of Argentina, I just wanted to set the record straight.
