Trimedyne Reports Loss of $2.5 Million

Trimedyne Inc., an Irvine manufacturer of medical lasers, reported a net loss of $2.5 million, or 23 cents a share, for the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, which included $2.9 million of research and development costs from Cardiodyne Inc., its 90%-owned subsidiary. The company posted a loss of $5.8 million, or 53 cents a share, for the previous year. Revenue declined 25% to $7 million from $9.3 million.
