BREA
The city recently received a $6.6-million federal grant to improve its regional mobile data system, which links the computers in police cars to police headquarters through radio waves.
The improved network affects not only Brea residents but also those in Placentia, Buena Park and Newport Beach, which all use Brea’s computer system. In addition, Tustin, Downey, La Palma, Cypress, Seal Beach and Los Alamitos also plan to sign on.
