COSTA MESA
The City Council recently voted 4 to 1 to raise members’ salaries to $690 per month. Councilman Joe Erickson cast the dissenting vote, saying he viewed the post as more of a public service volunteer position. Mayor Gary Monahan proposed the raise, which will reinstate council salaries to what they were in 1992, when they were cut to $520 a month because of the recession.
