GOVERNMENT CONTRACT AWARDS

* Jesco Construction Corp. of Ojai has been awarded a $1.2-million contract from Ventura County to remove and dispose of silt in the Arundell Baranca Debris Basin north of Ventura. The project, which began this month, is scheduled for completion April 22.

* Burns-Pacific Construction Inc. in Thousand Oaks has been awarded a $140,000 contract from Ventura County to remove and dispose of debris from the Fox Debris Basin in Somis. The project is scheduled for completion Feb. 9.

* Midway Drilling & Pump Co. in Saticoy has been awarded a $60,520 contract from Ventura County for the first phase of a project to destroy 10 water wells on the Oxnard Plain. The project is scheduled to begin Dec. 30 and be completed by March 30.

* Burns-Pacific Construction Inc. in Thousand Oaks has been awarded a contract for $47,754 from Ventura County to restore the Bardsdale access road at the Santa Clara River. The project involves approximately 2,800 square yards. It is scheduled for completion Jan. 22.

* Franklin & Vizzo Plumbing Inc. in Ventura was awarded a $24,001 contract from Ventura County to repair pipes at the Ventura County Medical Center. The project called for the company to expose the existing steel piping and install concrete containment. The project was completed this month.
