Trustees to Discuss Setting New Goals

Share

Amid two controversies looming for the Laguna Beach Unified School District board, trustees will meet today to discuss additional goals they want to accomplish before June.

Stricter graduation standards is one of three or four issues the board may tackle. Trustee Robert Whalen said the board also wants to organize a committee to investigate the physical condition of the district’s schools and evaluate the need for a bond referendum to repair the aging buildings.

Besides those issues, the board already is grappling with whether to enroll 342 students projected from development along Newport Coast.
