Dance to Benefit Children’s Center

An early Valentine’s Day dance Friday will benefit the Children’s Learning Center at Laura’s House, a shelter for victims of domestic violence.

The second annual Dance-a-thon Valentine Ball, featuring a free group ballroom dance lesson, is expected to draw about 150 people and raise more than $1,000 for the children’s center.

“The children are also victims of mental abuse and need psychological care,” said Elaine Lewis, a Leisure World resident who organized the event, which will be held at the San Clemente Community Center. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Information: (714) 472-4172.
