Child Care Project Needs Volunteers

The Irvine Child Care Project is seeking residents to serve on its Program Assessment and Review Committee.

The committee reviews the quality of after-school child care programs operated by various organizations throughout the city. These annual reviews assist the programs in maintaining quality standards.

The committee meets on the second Thursday of each month from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. at the Irvine Civic Center.

The volunteers in these positions must have a demonstrated interest in community child care. An educational or employment background, or both, in early childhood, elementary education, recreation or a related field is desired.

Applications are available through Feb. 26, at Irvine City Hall, second floor, community services department. Selected applicants will be interviewed March 12 at the regular committee meeting.
