‘Vampire’ Pleads Guilty to 2 Murders
From Times Wire Reports
A teenage “vampire” cult leader who had said murder would “open the gates to hell” pleaded guilty in Tavares to killing the parents of one of his disciples. Rod Ferrell, 17, could get the death penalty or life in prison without parole. He admitted taking part in the slaying of Richard Wendorf and Naoma Queen, who were beaten with a crowbar in 1996 in their home in Eustis. After the slaying, Ferrell ran away with the couple’s daughter, Heather Wendorf, now 17, and three others in the parents’ car.
