Apple’s Market Share Falls in 1st Quarter

Apple Computer Inc.’s share of the worldwide personal computer market fell to 2.6% in the first quarter ended in December, from 3.3% in the previous quarter, the company said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. In the U.S., Apple’s share fell to 3.3% from 4.6%. Apple had 10.6% of the worldwide PC market in 1995, 5.4% in 1996 and 3.3% in 1997.
